Your privacy at Woody’s.
Read the guides without creating an account. Your trip checklist stays in your browser. Here’s what happens when you visit or follow a link.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers Woody’s Passport Guide at woodysmtb.net. Privacy inquiries can be sent to support@findmatenetwork.com.
Findmate’s app and website have their own privacy policy. Their practices apply when you leave Woody’s and use those services.
What the site uses
| Information | Purpose | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Checked trip-planning items | Remember your checklist on this device | Your browser’s local storage |
| Page views and outbound link clicks | Understand readership and which recommendations readers follow | OpenPanel |
| Ordinary website request information | Deliver the site, diagnose failures and protect the service | Our hosting provider, Vercel, may process request logs |
| Fixed Findmate referral parameters | Identify the publication and link placement that referred a visit | Findmate, if you follow a promotional link |
| An email you choose to send | Respond to your question or correction | The support email service and people handling the inquiry |
Your checklist
The first-trip checklist uses the local-storage key woodys-checklist-v1. It stores which checklist items you marked complete. We do not transmit those selections to a server, connect them to an account or share them with Findmate.
The selections remain on that browser until you change them or clear the site’s stored data. They do not sync across devices. You can remove them through your browser’s site-data settings. The rest of the guide remains readable if browser storage is unavailable.
Your pocket plan
The itinerary builder at Plan your trip keeps your draft in page memory. Choosing Save on this device stores one plan, including your notes, under woodys-pocket-plan-v1 in this browser’s local storage. Load saved plan restores it; Remove saved copy deletes it. It does not sync with an account or send the plan to us or Findmate.
A shared route link includes the city, neighborhood, start date if entered, and chosen places in its URL fragment. Personal notes are omitted. Anyone you give that link to can read the included route. Text downloads, printouts, and calendar files include your personal notes and are generated on your device. Calendar entries are all-day travel notes. Map links open Google Maps only when you follow them.
Interactive tools and the small invitation
The city selectors, date plans, conversation-studio drafts and optional names, budget inputs, guide checklists, FAQ searches, and timezone choices run in your browser. These inputs stay on the current page and are not sent to our servers or to Findmate. The copy button uses your browser’s clipboard only when you click it.
The small promotional invitation uses the session-storage key woodys-invitation-seen so it appears at most once per browser-tab session. This stores a display preference, not a profile or browsing history. Closing the tab normally clears it. The first-trip checklist and an explicitly saved pocket plan can remain after the session.
Cookies, analytics and hosting
We use OpenPanel to count page views and outbound clicks, including which Findmate links readers use. Analytics includes page paths, referring pages and basic browser information. OpenPanel receives ordinary request information, including IP addresses, to process visits. We remove URL queries and fragments before sending events. Message drafts, trip notes and checklist selections are not collected; session replay is disabled.
The site does not use analytics cookies, signup forms, newsletters or user accounts.
Loading any website involves sending technical information to its host. Vercel may process details such as an IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time for delivery, security and troubleshooting. This is separate from a marketing analytics system. Learn more in Vercel’s privacy policy. We do not promise a fixed retention period for infrastructure logs controlled by the hosting provider.
Links to Findmate and other websites
Findmate promotion links contain fixed campaign information: source=woodys, utm_source=woodys, utm_medium=referral, utm_campaign=passport-guide and a placement label in utm_content. These identify the link, not your checklist or a personal profile.
Clicking an external link sends you to another website, which receives a normal browser request and may apply its own cookies, logging and privacy practices. Your browser may also send referring-site information according to its settings and this site’s referrer policy. We do not forward your checklist selections or collect private dating messages.
Member photographs
Our member showcase uses a reviewed snapshot of adult profiles from Findmate’s public promotional feed. The names, ages, countries and photos shown here come from that public source. We do not access private profiles, private messages or account information.
Member photographs are hosted on this site, so viewing them does not send your browser to Findmate’s API or photo servers. The showcase does not use a tracking cookie or make browser requests to a profile API. Following a source or Findmate link does open the relevant external service. See our photo credits for the sources; contact support if your profile details or photo need updating or removing.
Email and your choices
If you email us, we receive the address and information you include. We use that correspondence to deal with the inquiry and keep relevant records as needed. Include only what is necessary. You can ask about access, correction or deletion of information you have provided by contacting support@findmatenetwork.com; the rights available depend on applicable law and the information involved.
Adults and future changes
This publication is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has supplied personal information to us, contact support.
If site features or data practices change, this policy should be updated before those changes are introduced. See also our links and recommendations and terms of use.
